The excursion to one of the most beautiful places in the Kyrgyz Mountain Range, the Issyk-Ata Gorge, provided for by the Symposium program, took place on June 29, 2024.

The trip began at Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city.

Acquaintance with the general geological and tectonic situation in the area where the RS RAS is located

Along the route to the destination, stops were made at sections interesting from the point of view of geology and tectonics.

Inspection of an yeld of significantly crushed Paleozoic granites in the zone of influence of the Shamsinsky reverse fault.

At the entrance to the river valley. Issyk-Ata offers a magnificent view of the gorge:

Mount Uluu-Too (other names - Byty, Botvey), located in the middle of the gorge, with an altitude of 4009 m above sea level.

At the Issyk-Ata resort, the participants and guests of the Symposium visited one of the few monuments of Buddhism of the 8th-9th centuries preserved on the territory of Kyrgyzstan - a block with an image of the Buddha-healer (Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara - the deity of Supreme Mercy, the patron of all those who suffer).

A block with a bas-relief of the Healer Buddha, belonging to the pantheon of Mahayana Buddhism (2nd century AD) and inscriptions in Tibetan, presumably one of the main mantras in Mahayana Buddhism.

An artificial waterfall and a sculpture of a mountain sheep on the territory of the resort.

Next, the guests visited the pavilion with thermal drinking water:

After a walk around the resort, we took a walk to the Marble Falls, located 2 kilometers south of the resort, on the right bank of the river. Issyk-Ata.

Since this resort is famous for its thermal waters and private pools with hot healing water are available to visitors, some of our guests took advantage of this opportunity to appreciate the quality of the Issyk-Ata thermal baths.

The excursion ended at one of the stationary points of the network of electromagnetic monitoring and geomagnetic observations - at station. "Issyk-Ata".

Guests of the Symposium were introduced to the history of the creation of the station Issyk-Ata, the work of the operators, the methodology of work using the FSD method (far-field field sensing), conducting geomagnetic observations was explained in detailes, and they were shown the unique equipment used in the above studies. The organizers of the excursion did not forget to mention the great contribution of RS RAS specialists to improvement of existing equipment and software for collecting and processing the information received.

Conversation with the head of the laboratory of complex research, Imashev S.A. with Symposium participants

At the end of the excursion there was a friendly lunch where guests shared their impressions from the excursion.

Solution of the IX International Symposium

The Ninth International Symposium on the problems of modern geodynamics and geoecology (June 24–29, 2024, Bishkek city, Kyrgyz Republic) (hereinafter referred to as Symposium), dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the 45th anniversary of the Research Station of RAS (was celebrated in 2023). Symposium has become a representative international scientific event held on the basis of the Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city (RS RAS) and the International Research Center - Geodynamic Proving Ground in Bishkek (IRC-GPG).

The Symposium was held in a hybrid format: 112 reports (53 in-person and 59 online) and 18 posters were presented at plenary and sectional sessions. 167 scientists and specialists from seven countries (Russian Federation, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Belarus) took part in the Symposium.
