Laboratory of Studying Modern Movements of the Earth’s Crust by Space Geodesy (LGPS)

The laboratory was created on the 19th of February, 2001. It is a scientific division of the Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city.

The main activities of LGPS are aimed at studying modern movements of the Earth’s crust and related geodynamic processes by methods of land and space geodesy by the example of Central Asian region. The laboratory deals with complex interpretation of geodetic and seismic data using the results of allied Earth sciences; with assessment of accuracy of employed methods of geodetic measurements, with improvement of techniques of data acquisition, with involvement of advance technologies and development of new approaches to data analysis.

The laboratory consists of 12 people.
