We welcome you to the official site of the Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city.
Federal State Budget Institution of Science Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city is the research organization subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russia Federation.
The Research Station of RAS engages 57 scientific workers, including 26 researchers, 2 Doctors of Sciences and 8 Candidates of Sciences among them. The overall staff amounts 133 employees.
6 September 2017 Institute of Earth Sciences, Academia Sinica (Taiwan), represented by Director Sun-Lin Chung, International Research Center – Geodynamic Proving Ground in Bishkek (IRC-GPG) represented by Depute Director, Gennady G. Schelochkov, Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RS RAS) represented by Director, Anatoly K. Rybin concluded the Agreement about scientific and technical collaboration.
The purpose of this Agreement is to provide scientific and technical interaction of Sides during conducting collaborative research of geodynamic processes, organizing and conducting field works, and enhancing the efficiency of processing and interpretation of geological materials related to the problems of modern geodynamic activities of lithosphere in orogenic regions and data exchange.
The Agreement will promote the development of scientific relations between its participants during solving fundamental problems of modern geodynamics of different segments of Central Asian continental lithosphere, and topical applied problems of assessing the degree of tectonic activity of orogenic territories and adjacent areas.
XII INTERNATIONAL SEISMOLOGICAL WORKSHOP “Modern Methods of Processing and Interpretation of Seismological Data” started its work on September 11, 2017. Within Seismological Workshop, there are plenary sessions with presentations from leading Russian, Kazakhstani and foreign scientists on actual problems of seismology.
In the first day of Workshop the Director of Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city (RS RAS), Dr. Anatoly Rybin made a report “Complex geophysical monitoring of the seismic active areas of the Tian-Shan region”
Group of New Technologies Introduction (GNTI) executes planned works at RS RAS geophysical networks.
Reports about communication channel activity exploiting by RS RAS during second quarter of 2017 were prepared and handled to the State Agency of Communication under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. DGR-115 (produced by FreeWave Technologies, Inc. Production) and Bullet 2HP (produced by UBiQUiTi Networks production) radio modems were used on geophysical stations and repeaters level. The radio modems reliability provides high quality of channels

On June 24, 2017, the 7th International Symposium was traditionally concluded with survey geological tour. It started from “upper sight” of Research Station of the RAS in Bishkek, from where the glorious view on mountain constructions of Kyrgyz Mountain Range is opened. The experienced geologist – researcher easily could recognize numerous geomorphic, stratigraphic, tectonic, gidrogeological and other objects.
Prominent specialist on neotectonics, Director of the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanatbek E. Abdrakhmatov, gave a tour for Symposium participants from different countries. In course of this geological tour, the most attention was paid to conditions of main active faults and Earth’s crust blocks forming landscape.
