We welcome you to the official site of the Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city.
Federal State Budget Institution of Science Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city is the research organization subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russia Federation.
The Research Station of RAS engages 57 scientific workers, including 26 researchers, 2 Doctors of Sciences and 8 Candidates of Sciences among them. The overall staff amounts 133 employees.
In September – October 2017 the LAHD staff conducted the field trials of new improved model of measuring complex (Electrical survey complex with broadband signal) .
The trials showed a significant improvement in the performance of new set of equipment compared to previous model. At this time, the field testing of upgraded magnetometers POS-1 in conjunction with previously developed and produced by LAHD Autonomous geomagnetic data recording units was conducted.
On 25 – 27 October, 2017, in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan), the 9th Kazakhstan-Chinese International Symposium "Earthquake Prediction, Seismic Hazard Assessment and Seismic Risks of Central Asia" organized by the LLP "Institute of Seismology" and the Administration of Earthquakes of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China took place.
The Symposium was attended by the Director of Research station RAS in Bishkek city Anatoly K. Rybin, Head of the Laboratory of Complex Study of Geodynamic Processes in Geophysical Fields (LKI) Vitaly D. Bragin and Head of the Laboratory GPS Sergei Iv. Kuzikov. Anatoly K. Rybin presented the paper on "Electromagnetic Effects on the Environment with the Purpose of Discharge of Tectonic Stresses in the Earth's Crust of Seismically Active Regions (on the example of the Northern Tien Shan)” of the Group of authors (Rybin A.K., Bragin V.D., Shelokov G.G.).
For the period of June-September, 2017, the Group of Magnetotelluric Sounding conducted the soundings of two cross-sections in the territory of Kyrgyzstan to conduct detailed study the Tian Shan fault zones. On the “Karabook” cross-section, in Orto-Syrt River and At-Bashi River Valleys, the observations were made in 15 sites by MTS method, and on the “Chon-Tuz” cross-section in Kochkor Valley – in 24 sites.
Additionally, in Koch-Kor Valley, in 2 sites of two earlier acquired cross-sections, the synchrony long-term MT soundings had been conducting for 11 days. The aim was to increase the deep of observations. Similar works were also conducted in Issyk-Kul Lake depression, near “Karagai-Bulak” Regime Station, where observations took more than 8 days.
In August of this year, the Monograph “GISSAR-ALAY AND PAMIRS – Comparative Tectonics and Geodynamics” came out.
We congratulate the team of authors with publication of this joint scientific paper: Head of Tectonic of Consolidated Crust Laboratory GIN RAS Dr. M.G. Leonov; Director of Research Station of RAS in Bishkek city Dr. A.K. Rybin; RS RAS staff members: Dr. V.Yu. Batalev, Ph.D E.A. Bataleva, Ph.D V.E. Matyukov, Head of the Representative Office of RS RAS in Moscow city - G.G. Shchelochkov.
The book examined the factual material and the comparative analysis of the two largest mountain constructions of Asia: Pamir and Gissar-Alay. There are some information on the tectonic structure of regions, their deep structure, geodynamic evolution and modern geodynamics. In this book the authors proposed the Pamir and Gissar-Alay geological-geophysical models. The results of the experiments reflecting the typical for the studied region processes, as well as data on similar structure of the Earth’s crust are presented. The book is intended for a wide range of specialists in the geology, tectonics and geodynamics of Central Asia region.
The book was published under the financial support of Russian Science Foundation (Project 16-17-10059)
